LPG Partner David Potter obtained a defense verdict in the Federal District Court in New York on behalf of a large commodities brokerage firm. Plaintiff, who was terminated on the day she returned from a medical leave, alleged disability-related discrimination against her employer and demanded damages in excess of $1.5 million. At trial, Mr. Potter convinced the jury that plaintiff was laid off as part of a downsizing program, and not as a result of any discriminatory conduct.
